I enjoy being part of my patients’ journey of overcoming their fear of dentistry. I love working with all ages and being touched by each person. I have become a better person because of my patients. As a hygienist, I help my patients understand the “why” of dental care. By explaining dental disease, and why it’s important to keep one’s mouth healthy, I empower my patients. I teach them the best ways to brush and floss, and about healthy eating and good habits.
Away from work, you’ll often find me in my garden: gardening is cheap therapy and doubles as my gym. I have three kids: my husband, daughter, and son. They keep me on my toes!
As a dental hygienist, my goal is to change my patients’ lives through better oral health. I love seeing the improvements that happen when patients implement new knowledge into their daily oral habits. Small changes can make such a big difference in oral health! I also really enjoy working with Dr. Chelsea and our team. Each person in our office has genuine care and concern for our patients’ health.
I am married to a remarkable husband, Darryl. Our blended family of three children and three grandchildren is spread from coast to coast. We also have two rescue dogs named Bently and Elle. I love quilting and enjoy expanding my fabric collection.
I started my career in the dental field in 2007 as a registered dental assistant then moved my way up to working in the front office. Here at Juanita Family Dentistry, I work hard to build relationships with our patients while helping with all their scheduling and accounting needs. The Juanita Family Dentistry staff are like my extended family. I enjoy coming to work every day to get to spend time working with such smart and caring group. We work well together to achieve our common goal of creating a warm and inviting office for our patients.
When I’m not in the office, I enjoy walking my dog Lola, gardening, and doing construction on my home.
My role at Juanita Family Dentistry involves scheduling appointments and checking insurance benefits, but most importantly, ensuring that patients feel comfortable and well taken care of from the moment they arrive until they leave. I worked for years at Blue Cross Blue Shield before deciding to help my daughter-in-law Dr. Chelsea in her dental practice. This office is a genuine pleasure to work in. The girls here are such a fun group!
In my free time, I enjoy traveling to the Philippines, spending time with my two grandchildren and two grand-puppies, and being an active member of my church.
Hello, I have been in the dental field for more years than I care to say! I started in ortho seating patients, then moved into assisting, managing the onto consulting. I love dentistry, the patients and most of all the team I work with. My husband (William) and I enjoy our two dogs Sherman and Lincoln, riding our mountain bikes, golfing, and wine tasting in Walla Walla.
Registered Dental Assistant
I am very much a people person who has always loved helping others. Here at Juanita Family Dentistry, I try to make the obvious “un-enjoyable” dental visit into the most comfortable care possible. I consider it my mission! It's so encouraging to work with Dr. Chelsea, knowing that she cares about her staff both personally and professionally! As a new staff member, my coworkers motivate and challenge me to do better every day. I'm proud to say that I work here!
On a personal note, I enjoy a great sense of humor, fishing, good food, and country music!
I received my education at Renton Technical College to be a Certified Dental Assistant in 2010. Six years later, I found my second home here at Juanita Family Dentistry! Everyone in our office—from Dr. Chelsea to each member of our team—works hard, works together, and strives to give excellent care to our patients. I like meeting new people, helping them meet their dental goals, and making sure that they are as comfortable as possible.
My husband and I live in a small house in the Renton Highlands with our many chickens. We also have a small garden. My hobbies include knitting and crochet, painting, and drawing.
